There are three stages of Alzheimer’s Disease: Early Stage (Mild): · Unable to remember recent events · Unable to remember names of friends or familiar objects · Spends less time enjoying hobbies · Becomes more quiet or withdrawn.
Middle Stage (Moderate): · Has trouble recognizing family members or caregivers · Has trouble finding the right words · Unable to use common household objects · Needs help caring for themselves · Wanders or has emotional outbursts · Is depressed, anxious, aggressive, or suspicious.
Late Stage (Severe): · Can’t recall relationships and names of loved ones · Can’t recognize loved ones, common objects, or even oneself · Gradually loses the ability to speak · Cannot feed or dress themselves · Loses bladder and bowel control.
Not everyone with Alzheimer’s Disease will experience the same symptoms in the same order. Symptoms progress at different speeds for different people.
