Childbirth Classes

The WomanCare Center in Lincoln City is offering Childbirth Classes. Tuesday’s from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the Samaritan WomanCare Center, 2930 W Devil’s Lake Rd, Suite 3, Lincoln City, OR 97367.  You can pre-register during your second or third trimester by calling the WomanCare Center at 541-994-4440. 

 

Six week sessions will be held in April/May, July/August, and October/November.

 

Instructor: Hazel Palmer, RN

 

Cost: $50.00 per couple.

 

Classes will cover anatomy and physiology of childbirth, nutrition, stages of labor, comfort techniques, interventions, labor preparation exercises, making a birth plan, Cesarean birth, taking care of the newborn, understanding post partum, and breastfeeding.

 

Opportunities to practice various breathing techniques and working with a birth partner/support person. 

 

Tour of the labor and delivery rooms and the nursery at Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital.

 

Guest speakers include a nurse anesthetist and OB nurse as well as films and models.  Videos are new with the latest 3-D animation and footage from actual births.
