Drinking alcohol or using drugs is very dangerous for you and your baby’s health. No amount of alcohol is safe to drink during pregnancy. It is never too late to stop. · Cocaine, heroin and marijuana increase your risk of miscarriage, premature birth and birth defects. Your baby could be born addicted to the drug you’ve been taking. · Drinking alcohol during pregnancy is the major cause of preventable birth defects, including mental slowness.

Don’t clean your cat’s litter box, or eat raw or undercooked red meat. This could cause toxoplasmosis, a disease that can cause birth defects.
Don’t sit in the hot tub or sauna. This raises your risk of miscarriage and birth defects. Don’t douche without talking to your doctor first. Douching could force air into the vagina which can cause an air embolism. An air embolism can cause permanent brain damage or even death to a pregnant woman and her baby.
