Uncomplicated Fracture Care

 

Uncomplicated fracture care refers to a non-displaced fracture, a fracture in which the pieces on either side of the break line up.  The classic signs of a fracture are:

 

·          Pain

·          Swelling

·          Deformity

 

However, if the break is displaced, it may be harder to tell.  A displaced fracture is one in which the pieces on either side of the break are out of line, and may require surgery to make sure the bones are properly aligned before casting.
